Location(s): CarePoint East - 543 Taylor Avenue, Columbus

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing health care services to cardiology patients. Enhances and expands the patient care within the medical practice.  Collaborates with the physician (s) & other clinicians in providing a full scope of patient care including assessment, treatment, and evaluation of patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Focus is on preventive health and the management of acute and stable chronic conditions including patient education. Supervised by a practicing licensed physician. Performs medical services that have been specifically authorized & directed by the collaborating physician.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Works in collaboration with physician and independently (under the direction of the supervising / collaborating physicians) in formulating comprehensive patient treatment plans within clinical nursing practice and medical care protocols.

  2. Review inpatient and outpatient patient laboratory results and testing and recommend necessary follow-up intervention.

  3. Collaborates with the nurse/patient/family/physician/and community resources for coordination of patient care.

  4. Assumes accountability for patient care in making decisions, performing and delegating tasks as necessary, and maintaining a comfortable environment for the patient.

  5. Performs other related duties as required.

  6. Meet mandatory education and health surveillance requirements.Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, andcognitive skills required to meet essential job functions.Maintain collaborative care agreement and credentialing through the hospital.

Requirements:  

  • Current Ohio Registered Nursing License. 
  • Master’s degree in nursing and successful completion of an acceptable Nurse Practitioner education program.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prescriptive authority.

Preferences: 

Specialty experience.
